Interpreter guides (4 positions)

MAIN DUTIES

Under the supervision of the general director, the interpreter guide makes visitors aware of the need to protect wetlands and introduces them to the richness of this ecosystem. He/She guides visitors on hikes and canoe, kayak or rabaska outings through the reserve. He/She manages the material and the equipment during the outings. The interpreter guide leads various activities with different clienteles. He/She ensures compliance with regulations, helps with site maintenance and the preparation of equipment for special events.

Desired qualities:
• Enjoy working with the public and outdoors
• Smiling, dynamic and takes initiative
• Are comfortable speaking French and English
• Interest in the environment

Working conditions:

• Daytime work, weekdays and weekends
• Salary: To be determined
• 35 hours per week
• Duration of employment: varies between 8 to 16 weeks
• This is a seasonal job (May to October)
• On-site training

Special conditions:

• This is a student job funded by Youth Summer Jobs Canada.
• Must own a car, no transportation available. The National Wildlife Area is located in Dundee, (Quebec).

Maintenance (2 positions)

MAIN DUTIES

Under the supervision of the general director, the maintenance employee is responsible for  the maintenance of the trails of the Reserve (10 km): lawn mowing, branch pruning and trail cleaning. He/She maintains the machinery and participates in construction work (wooden trail, repair of bird feeders or on certain buildings). He/She ensures that the site and buildings are safe and clean for visitors.

REQUIRED QUALITIES

• Are manual

• Are able to use different work tools (electric or motor)

• Autonomous and resourceful

• Work safely

• Good physical shape

• Interest in the environment

Working conditions:

  • Daytime, weekday and weekend work
  • Salary: To be determined
  • 30 to 35 hours per week
  • Duration of employment: seasonal contract (May to October)
  • On-site training

  • Have a valid driver’s license (class 5).
  • You must be eligible for the Emploi-Québec wage subsidy program.
  • Must own a car, no transportation available. The National Wildlife Area is located in Dundee, (Quebec).
